Usually when you hear that a company wants to grow the first thing that comes to mind is expanding. But BMW is taking a different approach and downsizing in hopes to win over the younger, more efficiency minded adults.

You heard that correctly, like many other automakers are doing, BMW is trimming down current models and introducing smaller yet still sporty utility vehicles.

Which model is BMW planning to trim up you may be wondering? Well it is the BMW 1 series. The changes will not be dramatic from the 2012 model year that you will find in Shrewsbury, but it will be slightly smaller and more efficient we at Wagner BMW of Shrewsbury assume.

The car we want to talk about now, however is the soon-to-be-released BMW X1.  Unveiled to the world for the first time this spring at the NYC auto show, it promises to be the perfect option for drivers who crave fun, functionality and good fuel economy. Essentially, the X1 is proof BMW wants drivers to have their cake and eat it too.

...Just how much will a slice cost?  Less than you'd probably ever guess. The highly anticipated BMW X1 will carry a starting M.S.R.P. of just over 31 grand.
